Job Description
- All equipment shut-off valves and building utility shut-offs should be identified, located, and used.
- May train staff on how to utilize and operate heating and cooling systems, among other things.
- May take part in energy use comparisons, studies, and other activities upon the Chief engineer’s request.
- Before beginning any maintenance work, use the Lockout/Tagout system.
- Demonstrate fundamental computer abilities, such as entering air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
- When necessary, test, diagnose, and carry out simple repairs on all kinds of equipment.
- Perform simple repairs and troubleshooting tasks as needed for internet gadgets, vacuum cleaners, plumbing, electrical switches, and other appliances found in guest rooms.
Skills and Qualifications
- A practical understanding of refrigerants used in residential and commercial settings, as well as proven customer service abilities. Written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
- ITI or refrigeration and air conditioning diploma bearer. or two years of maintenance vocational training or skilled trade school.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in cold storage, chilled water plants, fresh air handling units, fan coil units, and air handling units, with at least two to six years of experience recommended in the hotel business.
