Michael and his brother, Sander, started working for themselves in the construction field in 1978. It was then that Attard Bros as a company was founded.
Family values have always driven Attard Brothers. They built up their business slowly and without compromise, creating something strong to last them for many years. We have been running our warehouse in Ta’ Qali since 1986. We have successfully transitioned from Mgarr to Mosta, Birkirkara, and Ta’ Qali.
Michael diversified, producing concrete while they migrated to Ta’ Qali. Six new factories followed, including a cement plant, five ready-mix trucks, a brick and steel plants. Attard Bros were given the opportunity to be a part of Luxury Hotels projects under the company name. Michael’s children started taking an interest in the family business, and the girls Denise and Maria helped diversify and open two stores.
BigMat began in 2014. In the beginning, Noel took a more active role, and now, he is the store manager of BigMat, while Denise is now a procurement and warehouse manager. The Group has grown steadily and consistently with the investment in more human resources over the years. We are an employer that employs 380 people across a variety of positions in all aspects of its business.
