The current managing director, Mr Walter Vigar, founded Imperial Manufacturing 20 years ago with nothing more than a straightforward vacuum-forming machine.
At the time, Mr Vigar was producing just one item in a one-car garage, but after winning a concession, he soon began producing all of Airmalta’s in-flight catering packages! This was the start of the company’s successful journey, which saw it gradually grow by investing in new equipment and larger facilities, moving to industrial estates in Mosta, Kordin, and currently Marsa.
More machines were bought as a result of increased demand and a rapidly expanding reputation. Imperial Manufacturing now produces plastic packaging for many well-known enterprises in Malta.

Job Description
- Observing safety and health regulations.
- Keeping the factory floor and workstations tidy.
- Putting parts and things together.
- According to production standards and procedures.
- Completing and putting things in shipping packaging.
- Operating and maintaining production line machines and equipment.
- Observing the production line and removing defective goods.
- Reaching production goals while working on the production line.
- Reporting any problems to the on-duty supervisor.
- Carrying out more assignments.
Skills and Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma.
- It helps to have prior factory work experience.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Capable of cooperating as a team.
- A good ability to communicate.
- Able to work in shifts.
